Faith Builder Series: Part 1: Rehearse What God has Done for You

Freedom*
Ever wonder where God is in the middle of your struggle?

Ever wonder why you have to wait for His promises to be fulfilled?

Ever wonder how to grow your faith?

First, let me say, God gives us faith. And our faith is tested and proven. And once it’s proven, it is extremely valuable. (see Romans 12:3, James 1:3, 1 Peter 1:7) Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. (see Hebrews 12:2) He loves us and wants our faith to be strong.

There are ways to build your faith. Ways to encourage yourself as you wait. Most of them have to do with remembering. King David employed this faith-builder.

You can begin by asking yourself: What has God done for me? Yes, count your blessings. But also, recall to mind:

1) Times when God has provided for you.

2) Times when God came through on a promise.

3) Times when God healed you.

4) Times when God answered your prayers.

5) Times when God made a way where there seemed to be no way.

Over the last 22 years, God has blessed our family with some faith-building activities. And I’ve learned these things:

1) God is faithful!

2) God will provide!

3) God is personal!

4) The process may involve plenty of times where we wonder how in the world He will pull it off, but He always comes through.

And since God is no respecter of persons, I’m sure we each have our own testimony. No one is left out when it comes to His adopted family!

So, are you going through a tough time? Grab your journal and jot down some notes in response to that list above. (Some friends even keep journals full of miracles, answered prayers, etc. Such an encouragement!)

Watch how God will encourage your faith and then give you hope in the midst of your current circumstances. Just writing this post has encouraged me in a current situation. He has worked miracles for us before. He’ll do it again!

Amen? Amen!

Happy Independence Day!

American flag
Dear readers, I hope you enjoy a safe and happy July Fourth!

Let's keep praying for our nation and our leaders. Let's walk humbly before God. Let's thank Him for our freedom.

So grateful to those who gave their lives for our nation's freedom. To those who have served, or do serve, in our armed forces, and to their families, thank you!

Know that you can have freedom inside too. Freedom from tormenting thoughts and regrets. Peace that is only gained through the Prince of Peace—Jesus.

This Fourth of July, I pray you have freedom, inside and out.
